Mercaterra Atlantic regularly bids on military contracts and approached Nation Ramps about designing and bidding on a custom mobile equipment loading ramp for the National Guard in Varnsville, South Carolina. The National Guard required a ramp with 50,000 lbs capacity, a maximum length of 35’ and completely mobile. Used for military equipment loading and off-loading they also needed the ramp to be a maximum grade of 9.5°. Together with Mercaterra Atlantic, Nation Ramps designed a unit that met all of the National Guard demands to win the contract. Once the contract was awarded the ramp needed to be designed, manufactured and delivered to Varnsville within a four-week window.
The solution was a custom Nation Ramps Equipment Loading Ramp (EQP50K). Having sold and rented many ramps and platforms to the US Military we knew the demands for performance and quality required for this National Guard project. Prior to beginning the manufacturing process, our engineering team produced drawings for discussion and approval. Once the National Guard was satisfied and signed off on the design, we manufactured and delivered the custom ramp to South Carolina within a short three week window.

For the South Carolina National Guard, a Nation Ramps custom EQP50K was the answer to fulfill all of their in-field requirements. With 50,000 lbs. weight capacity, 8.5’ wide ramp, ability to adjust height from 46” to 56” while maintaining a grade of between 7° to 9° and an overall length of 31.25’. Along with the difficult design specs the unit included a high-capacity tire & wheel package with hidden hitch for quick hook up and tow capability. Able to handle the wear of military applications and continue to perform time and time again in the most difficult conditions
