Durante Equipment is a construction equipment rental business based in Hollywood, Florida. Durante Equipment services construction companies in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties and delivers equipment to job sites throughout the surrounding area.
Their existing service facility only had a small concrete access ramp for bringing equipment into their shop. They wanted to increase shop capacity and efficiency by adding ramp access to an adjacent 14-foot shop door. The current door had been utilized as a makeshift shipping dock and they wanted to convert it into an access point to bring larger heavy equipment into their service area. They also wanted to increase the depth of the outside area for staging equipment prior to entering the shop. Together with Durante Equipment, Nation Ramps designed a two section, 50,000 lbs (GVW) ground to dock ramp with a custom level-off area that met all of their demands to win the contract. Once the contract was awarded the ramp needed to be designed, manufactured, delivered and installed to their Florida location.
The solution was a Nation Ramps heavy duty 14-foot wide, two section ground to dock ramp that incorporated a 3-foot level-off platform. Having worked with construction and equipment rental businesses, we understood the required deliverables.
Prior to beginning the manufacturing process, our engineering team produced drawings for discussion and approval. Once the management team and staff were satisfied and signed off on the design, we engineered, manufactured, delivered and installed the heavy duty ramp in their Hollywood, Florida location within a six week delivery window, along with coordinating the installation with the renovation contractors.
